Pelvic Floor Disorders and Repair
Prolapse repair and solutions for pelvic floor disorders
Pelvic organ prolapse is a common condition arising from weakness of or damage to the the pelvic floor muscles. This may affect the front wall of the vagina causing the bladder to bulge through, the back wall of the vagina causing the rectum to bulge through or the top of the vagina causing the uterus to fall through the vagina. Symptoms of prolapse may include feeling or seeing a bulge in the vagina, difficulties with the bladder or bowels. Surgery to treat these problems maybe done by keyhole, open, vaginal or a combination of approaches. These are largely done without mesh.
